Week 16

  • Someone's protein gel
  • It's our final and very busy week. Proteomics Facility tour on Monday then the quiz and final exam review.
  • FINALS and Project 6 Lab Reports are DUE!

Week 15

  • The missing info on the protein mass markers are now posted on the schedule page.
  • Guest Lecturers Will Sewell and Mike Gallagan are giving the lectures on Monday- take notes!
  • Last lab of the semester this week.

Week 14

  • Presentations this week.
  • QUIZ on Project 4 and Project 5.
  • Turn in Lab Notebooks for review during the QUIZ.
  • HAPPY THANKSGIVING!

Week 13

  • The Project 6 manual was modified 11/16.
  • Project 5 lab reports will be due on 11/30.
  • Office hours Tuesday and Thursday has been cancelled- rescheduled for Friday 10-11.
  • All projects need to be wrapped up this week.
  • Presentation guidelines will be posted on Wed.
  • We've cancelled the session the day before thanksgiving. You will still need to pour your native polyacrylamide gels for protein gel assays. This can be done during the Friday option. Hours will be posted.

Week 12

  • REMINDER: PRESENTATION of Aharoni et., al. paper (1 HOUR) Due 11/09
  • Our new 5'RACE System from Invitrogen was not released from QA/QC and will not ship in time to do the experiment
  • Proceed with alternate plans to clone the 5'RACE

Week 11

Week 10

  • Combined Project 3 and Project 4 lab reports due MONDAY
  • Begin Project 5 experiments - ENTER protocols into lab notebooks and document all DATA and OBSERVATIONS

Week 9

  • Read all required reading before coming to lab WED
  • Midterm Exam this week

Week 8

  • Sequence Analysis [cont.] in the BLC
  • The website for NEBcutter is here
  • Lab meeting presentations due this week

Week 7

  • Quiz on Monday
  • Sections 1 and 2 have slightly different schedules - refer to the course schedule for instructions
  • Exercises will be available during class

Week 6

  • The Cohen, et. al., paper is due Monday
  • There will be no Project 4 Prelab since you will be exercises will be assigned each lab. Project 4 will be integrated with Project 3.
  • 2nd Half of the of the Wed lab will be held in the library computer lab (Rm Information Commons Rm 112A in the main library)

Week 5

  • Remember that your lab report is due Monday
  • There is an extra day (Tuesday) this week where you need to come briefly into the lab to pick clones for overnight cultures and set up the PCR reactions
