Here is the information that Residence Life has provided me. **** Download and print this document. Choose housing needs, sign and mail it back with the fee.
Please keep in mind that the meals are not included. We will try to lower the cost by allowing shared rooming. This will be done at a first come first serve basis as student requests comes in. Male/female sharing is prohibited. If you requested room sharing and mailed in a shared room fee, but a roommate cannot be match, then you will be required to mail in the balance of the fee for the single room. Here is the fee structure:
Arriving Monday June 9, leaving Saturday June 28, NOT staying on weekends, 15 nights:
Single room ($33/night x 15): $495
Share room ($24/night x 15): $360
Arriving Monday June 9, leaving Saturday June 28, staying on weekends (adds fee for weekend supervision and activities $150), 19 nights:
Single room ($33/night x 19): $627+$150= $777
Share room ($24/night x 19): $456+$150= $606
Arriving Sunday June 8, leaving Saturday June 28, NOT staying on weekends, 16 nights:
Single room ($33/night x 16): $528
Share room ($24/night x 16): $384
Arriving Sunday June 8, leaving Saturday June 28, staying on weekends (adds fee for weekend supervision and activities $150), 20 nights:
Single room ($33/night x 20): $660+$150= $810
Share room ($24/night x 20): $480+$150= $630

HOUSING ACCOMMODATIONS
- All students, teachers and staff of the FORENSIC COURSE staying on campus will be housed in the Kaibab-Huachuca Hall (Conference Services reserves the right to change building and/or space assignments). Arrival dates: Staff June 8 or 9, 2008 and Departure date: June 28, 2008. The dates are flexible.
- Single rooms will be provided at a cost of $33.00 per night, per person and shared rooms at a cost of $24.00 per night, per person. Please let me know what you prefer.
- Bed linens, pillows, towels and washcloths will be provided in each guest room. Linen exchanges will be available, upon request, every fourth (4th) consecutive day.
- Conference Services will also provide accommodations for early arrivals and/or late departures on an as available basis at the applicable rate (see 2 above).
- Check-in is between 2:00 p.m. and 12:00 midnight. Check-outs must be on or before 12 noon.. Failure of a guest to check-out by noon will result in an automatic additional charge of one night’s stay at the guest’s applicable nightly rate, charged to the COURSE PARTICIPANT. Exceptions to the check-in and check-out times must be approved in advance by the Conference Services Manager.
- A limited amount of adapted housing for the disabled is available; however, it may not be located within the same building to which the COURSE has been assigned. The COUSE PARTICIPANT must notify the Conference Services Office no later than thirty (30) days prior to its arrival date of the need for any adapted housing.
REGISTRATION AND CHECK-IN
Registration and check-in will take place as follows:
RESIDENCE HALL SERVICES
The following services will be provided during your stay:
- The Desk will be operated 24 hours by Conference Services staff.
- Conference Services staff will be on call nightly to handle emergency situations.
- For security of residents, the outside doors will remain locked. Adult live-in staff will be issued access cards. Participants will not be issued building access cards.
KEYS
Individuals must officially check-out with a Conference Services staff member when vacating a room. All keys must be returned to a Conference Services staff member only. The charge for each lost room key will be $50.00. The charge for each lost entrance key or card will be $35.00.
MISCELLANEOUS CHARGES
Students will be made responsible for the rooms that they will stay in. At the conclusion of this event, participants will also pay Conference Services for the following:
- DAMAGES - Labor and materials necessary to replace any missing items or to repair damages to the premises.
- EXCESSIVE GARBAGE LEFT IN PUBLIC AREAS AND OR GUEST ROOMS ARE SUBJECT TO A $200.00 CHARGE.
ROOM ASSIGNMENT
You will be assigned rooms when you check in.
ROOM REASSIGNMENTS
Conference Services may reassign any participant within the residence halls to a room of equal or greater value.
PARKING
Vehicle parking on University property is governed by the University’s Parking and Transportation Office. All conference parking will be subject to guidelines established by that office. PARTICIPANTS THAT RECEIVE PARKING CITATIONS ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR THOSE CITATIONS. Please observe all parking rules and regulations. Traffic laws on campus are enforced by the University Police Department. Please observe all traffic laws while on campus.
SUPERVISION
All visiting members of the course are to report to the OFFICIAL FORENSICS COURSE LIVE-IN ADVISOR. This includes adult chaperones of groups participating in the course. No member shall separate from the supervision of the designated advisor. We will follow strict adherence to this rule. Violators will be removed from the program. Parents will be notified to make arrangements to pick their children up from the University.
MEDICAL CONSENT
Prior to check-in, a copy of the medical consent will be given to Conference Services for all participants under the age of eighteen (18). In the event of an emergency, we will contact the minors' parents for instructions. An authorized medical consent form is required before medical treatment can be administered to any minor.
REGULATIONS
The participants must comply with all applicable federal, state and local laws and all University and Residence Life regulations while on University property. Participants failing to adhere to the rules may be removed from the residence hall(s) and/or dismissed from participation in activities on University property.
- ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES: The possession or consumption of alcoholic beverages by anyone under the age of twenty-one (21) is prohibited by Arizona law. Participants over the age of 21 may privately consume alcoholic beverages within their own room. The consumption of alcoholic beverages in public areas of the residence halls (including hallways), anywhere on campus outside the residence hall and within participant rooms as a part of organized social gatherings is strictly prohibited. Violation of this agreement may result in the immediate removal of the participant from the residence hall at Conference Services sole discretion.
- SMOKING: Smoking is prohibited in all University facilities, including residence halls. Designated smoking areas are outside.
- BICYLES: Bicycles may not be brought into or kept in residence halls. Ample parking for bicycles is available near each residence hall. The University is not responsible for the security of bicycles.
- CHILDREN: Children of participants and all participants under the age of eighteen (18) must be accompanied and supervised by an adult at all times.
- COOKING/APPLIANCES: A small refrigerator is provided in each room by Conference Services. Participants may not bring their own refrigerator. Participants may bring and use in their rooms microwave ovens, hot pots, coffee makers (automatic shut-off preferred) and hot air popcorn poppers. Appliances which have an open coil or use hot oil are not allowed in residence hall rooms.
- DAMAGES: YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR DAMAGES.
- DRUGS: Participant involvement in the use, possession, distribution or sale of illegal drugs or narcotics is strictly prohibited. Non-compliance by any participant will result in immediate removal from the residence hall, dismissal from participation in activities on University property and to prosecution.
- ELEVATORS: Elevators exist in University facilities for the convenience of participants and their guests. Elevators must be used properly. Misuse may result in temporary loss of service and/or a service charge for repairs resulting from that misuse. Notify a University staff member immediately if an elevator failure occurs. Freight/service elevators are not available for use by the participants, except in the company of an authorized University staff member.
- FIRE SAFETY: All University facilities are equipped with fire safety systems. All participants must evacuate the building immediately when the fire alarm sounds. Maps describing evacuation routes are posted within each facility. Misuse or damage to fire safety equipment (sprinkler systems, smoke detectors, fire alarms, pull stations, fire extinguishers and fire hoses) is strictly forbidden and may result in damage charges and to prosecution.
- GAMBLING: Gambling of any nature is strictly prohibited on University property.
- MISCONDUCT: Conference Services reserves the right to evict any person or persons whose conduct is unacceptable by Residence Life or University standards.
- PETS: No pets of any kind may be brought into or kept in a University facility, with the exception of certified service animals.
- QUIET HOURS: Quiet hours in all shared-use housing facilities are 9:00 p.m. to 9:00 a.m. daily. Radios, televisions, stereos and other such equipment must be operated so as not to disturb other guests in the building. This is to be observed by all participants to ensure a peaceful and comfortable living environment.
- ROOM INSPECTION: All residence hall rooms are carefully inspected to ensure proper care and maintenance both before and after occupancy. If a maintenance problem should arise, please report it immediately to the front desk.
- VISITATION: All non-resident visitors within a residence hall are required to be escorted at ALL times by a resident of that hall. Non-resident visitors are not permitted beyond the front desk of any residence hall without a residence escort.
- WEAPONS: The possession, use and sale of weapons are strictly prohibited on University property. Weapons include, but are not limited to, knives, blades, clubs, firearms and fireworks. Any participant in violation of this policy will be immediately removed from the residence hall and dismissed from participation in activities on University property.
- WINDOWS: Window screens, where provided, are not to be removed for any reason. You will be charged a minimum or $15.00 for each window screen removed.
PERSONAL PROPERTY
Conference Services assumes no responsibility for loss, theft or damage to personal property belonging to the participants. Participants who believe they have left personal effects behind may contact Conference Services. If the item is found, it may be claimed in person by describing the item (i.e. color, brand name, identifying marks, etc.). Conference Services will not send items through the mail C.O.D. Participants wishing to have items sent through a postal/parcel service must make payment arrangements in advance with Conference Services.
While Conference Services attempts to return personal effects to their proper owners, it cannot assume responsibility for any item found in a facility. To prevent loss, participants should reclaim their personal effects from Conference Services as soon as possible. All items remaining in lost and found after a period of fourteen (14 ) days shall be returned to the sponsoring program office (if on campus) or donated to charitable organizations.
